Moments of HOPE at the CSS Auburn market

Recently, our Food & Personal Care Market served as a place of healing and reassurance.

We met with a new client who arrived in tears, feeling nervous and embarrassed about needing help. She left with spirits lifted, moved by the resources and support she found right here in her community. She even received a Baby Bundle Box, provided by Blessed Beginnings, a gift for her new grandchild, something she and her daughter could not otherwise afford. As explained on the Blessed Beginnings Facebook page:

If you’re not familiar with our Baby Bundle Boxes—these are care packages filled with essentials to support new mothers or fathers who find themselves needing a little extra help. Items may include A&E ointment, baby shampoo, a pacifier, a handmade tummy time mat, and more thoughtful necessities.

We also had the privilege of supporting a neighbor from a nearby town who came to us after her husband’s place of employment for 23 years closed. Another “I’ve never had to ask for help before” client that reminded us why we are here to walk with those needing our love and hope. Through a listening ear and access to essential resources, she left feeling lighter and reassured that she does not have to navigate these new, difficult waters alone.
